An intensive, medical school–aligned online program that strengthens biomedical foundations, builds clinical reasoning, and prepares you for MD-level expectations.
Who This is For?
MD Direct is designed for aspiring physicians who want a stronger academic foundation before starting medical school. It is built for science majors and career changers who have completed key prerequisites and want a clear path into the ACSOM MD Program. The MCAT is not required for admission to MD Direct.

Admissions Criteria
Bachelor’s degree required (any major accepted if prerequisites are completed)
Prerequisites include:
Waivers/substitutions may be considered case-by-case.
- 2 semesters of Biology (General Biology or higher)
- 2 semesters General Chemistry
- 1 semester Organic Chemistry
- 1 semester Algebra or Biostatistics
- 1 semester Physics
MCAT not required
English fluency required
Record of good conduct required
Resume, personal statement, and letters of recommendation required

Program Structure
Module 1: Decelerated Foundations of Medicine (dFOM)
Weeks 1–10 | dFOM Final Exam
Core biomedical foundations with a focus on mechanisms, integration across disciplines, and clinical application.
Content areas: cell & molecular biology, biochemistry & metabolism, genetics, pathology/oncology, pharmacology, physiology/endocrinology
Assessments: practice exams, four proctored module exams, dFOM final exam
Module 2: pre-Attack & Defense (preAAD)
Weeks 11–15 | preAAD Final Exam
Immunology and microbiology integrated with clinical application and antimicrobial principles.
Content areas: innate/adaptive immunity, immune disorders/hypersensitivity, vaccines/transplant/immunosuppression, bacteriology/virology, antibiotics/resistance
Assessments: practice exams, preAAD final exam
Instructional Model (Medical School–Aligned)
How you can shape the future
MD Direct follows a consistent rhythm designed to build professional study habits and long-term retention:
- Daily live morning instruction (Mon–Fri)
- Once-weekly guided afternoon session
- Protected independent study + pre-work time with full-time expectations
Morning sessions (Mon–Fri): 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM PST
Live lectures, integrated clinical cases, NBME-style concept application, and high-yield mechanism review. Sessions assume prior preparation and emphasize conceptual integration.
Weekly required afternoon session (typically): 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM PST
May include clinical case-solving, medical terminology, histology, physiology integration, review, or remediation.
Independent study
takes place outside live sessions and mirrors medical school expectations—afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Upon successful completion, students may be considered for performance-based scholarships and will be supported through onboarding and next steps via Student Support Services and Financial Aid.
